The newspaper „Politika” asked professor Dr. Svetozar Stojanovic, president and one of the founders of the SAC about the resignation of Leon Kojen, and his statement was published in the column ” Theme of the day: Changes in the Serbian negotiating team“

The statement of professor Dr.Svetozar Stojanovic, President and one of the founders of the SAC, referring to the resignation of Leon Kojen from the position of the coordinator of the negotiating team for Kosmet, was published in Politika’s article: “ There is no one to accept Kojen’s resignation. Kostunica will not accept Leon Kojen’s resignation from the position of the coordinator of the negotiating team for Kosmet. Boris Tadic’s suggestion that Dusan Batakovic could take this place will be considered by the new government. “

“It was an unpleasant surprise for me when I found out about the resignation of professor Kojen, who is undoubtedly one of the most competent, most dignified and most valuable collaborators of the President of the Republic of Serbia. I do not believe that this was caused by the influence of the president himself but I assume that it is more likely a matter of poor coordination of his counseling team. It is certain that the negotiations about Kosovo and Metohija cannot be held through many channels and many people from the counseling team, and without the knowledge and participation of Mr. Kojen who is one of the two coordinators of the state’s negotiating team for the status of Kosovo and Metohija, said Stojanovic.” This event is a good lesson that the two cabinets, the cabinet of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the cabinet of the Prime Minister, should work in tight coordination, not only with each other, but within themselves as well. This of course refers to the formation of the new Government, which is incomprehensibly and unjustifiably late. Altogether it leaves a very bad impression not only in our public opinion, but also on the well intending and not so well intending foreign representatives, who are presently in Belgrade.
